Amy Keevy

Amy Keevy was born and raised in the small town of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, across from a park with the tallest of pine trees. She completed herB-tech in Fine Art at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2009, and now lives and works in Cape Town. Amongst many other things, Amy likes to play with clay, nap with her two tabby cats, and lose herself inside books with the most tragic love stories.

Keevy’s current art project explores the moon, with her mighty hold over memory and shadow, as well as the beauty and mystery of the female form. This lunar fascination began with the need for Keevy to ground herself with something beyond her control, and she hopes that whatever paint is brave enough to meet paper will bring to you the same sense of joy.
