Caro Jesse is a food artist living and working in Cape Town. She holds an A Grande Cordon Bleu (highest accolade chef degree) and has experience working in Fine Art, 3D animation, graphic art, and digital multi-media. These combined skills allow Caro to weave her art into one unique tapestry of talents. It could be a photograph, an edible art installation, a sensory meal, a bespoke natural scent, unique eating vessels (plates, bowls, glasses), eating tools, planned event, exhibition, collaboration, floral and herbal arrangements… For Caro, nothing is impossible.
Caro won the 2019 Best Food Stylist in South Africa award and performed at the 2018 Venice Food Design Week. She was a Judge for 2015’s Eat Out Awards ‘Best of South Africa’ and was a lead designer for a KWV Tour de France event. Alongside her food-focused solo exhibitions, Caro offers private events. These explore experimental foods, art direction, and creative food styling for food-oriented shoots.
