Conrad Botes
Cape Town-based artist, Conrad Botes is best known for his collaborative comic series, Bitterkomix, with Anton Kannemeyer. A forerunner in South Africa’s Post-Pop movement, Botes has exhibited his artwork across the globe. He has contributed to exhibitions in South Africa, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, the UK and the USA (to name a few).
Alongside the cutting-edge Bitterkomix series (which just released its 18th edition), Conrad published The Erotic Works of Conrad Botes. The book was published with Soutie Press. It encompasses a selected collection of Conrad’s sketchbooks from the past 25 years, merging various styles and mediums to comment upon aspects of South African society and culture.
