Human By Nature

Human By Nature is an independent clothing brand inspired by nostalgia and the new, founded by John Lehman in 2017. Although HBN began in Hong Kong, it has roots in Tokyo, Beijing, Boston, and now Cape Town. John’s upbringing inspires his products which frequently merge themes, designs, and traditions. Previous collections include ‘Fear and Loathing in Tokyo’, in which HBN merged traditional kimono prints with 1990s bowling-style shirts to great success. For their 2020 collection, HBN created naval-themed workwear inspired by Cape Town’s rich nautical history.
