Wanida Boutique

Wanida grew up in Northern Thailand in a village in Nan but now lives and works in Cape Town. Her province in Thailand is known for rice farming, the weaving of Thai silk by hand, and hand-stamped tribal fabrics. She launched Wanida Boutique (meaning ‘beautiful woman’ in Thai) in 2019, making beautiful, dramatic, princess-style dresses from environmentally friendly 100% cotton fabric.

Since Wanida was young, she had always dreamt about having her very own princess dress. After high school, she moved to Bangkok to study where she eventually met her husband who later brought her to Cape Town. Wanida states that she “fell in love with the natural beauty, and the wonderful culture of [Cape Town]. This inspired me to follow my dream of making my princess dresses. I want to make everyone that wears my dresses feel like the princess I dreamt of being when I was younger. My goal is to bring you joy, and for all women to feel beautiful and proud of themselves.”
