Lorraine Loots’ A Thousand Lovers’ Eye collection required us to collaborate with international jewellers and local graphic designers. We were tasked with orchestrating and managing the website, importing, packaging and shipping. Lorraine sourced a jeweller in Australia (Carla Maxine Jewellery) that she worked with on the design of her necklaces, but needed help managing this relationship as well as the costing of the whole project. We, therefore, assisted with the logistical aspects of manufacturing these products in Australia, including overseeing the complicated importing process and maintaining the budget.
In South Africa, we worked with Richard Myburgh (Lorraine’s appointed graphic designer) to create customised A Thousand Lovers’ Eyes packaging. This included handmade ceramic bowls, hand-turned wooden lids, custom cut foam, and foiled and embossed plastic-free boxes. We also designed and assisted in producing personalised stationery: envelopes, thank you cards, and certificates of authenticity all with a foil and letterpress finish.
For the online launch, we developed a streamlined commission system. This allows Lorraine’s clients to provide a brief, upload reference pictures, add shipping options and make payment without any back and forth admin. We also made the purchasing process streamlined and user-friendly to create a hassle-free experience for both Lorraine and her customers.
