Troye May has two passions in life, these are beer and art. With these two passions, he will be hosting his first ever exhibition, here at Artist Admin, in Gardens. The exhibition will consist of a collection of original Beertime artworks, illustrated through the use of alcohol based pens, and more recently Luminance pencils crayons.
Beertime Art was born out of lockdown when South Africa was facing the colossal ban of alcohol which caused significant struggle for local and smaller breweries. Troye began selling prints of his work which raised more than R20,000 and was used to buy food vouchers for staff in the beer industry.
Troye received an overwhelming response from his many followers and friends which helped him to realise his call to artistic action and, as such, jumped right into the creative journey that is Beertime.
Troye May graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Applied Graphics from Stellenbosch University in 2007. Post degree, Troye continued his love for beer and went on to become a certified beer judge from the Beer Judge Certification Programme. The creative journey doesn’t end there though as Troye also has his very own podcast series called Beertime in which he recently recorded his 100th show
Join us for the Opening Night of Coded Reality on the 2nd of December from 6 – 8:30 pm at Artist Admin on Roeland Street, Gardens, Cape Town.
